Set up the service

Choose the languages your family and friends speak. Invite anyone giving a reading — their words stay private from the family until the service.

2

Translate & review

Each tribute is prepared and translated before the day — no live transcription, no surprises. Reviewed paragraph by paragraph, with care.

3

Follow along together

Mourners scan a discreet QR code, pick their language, and read along quietly as each speaker progresses.

Are you a funeral director?

Held in confidence

We never contact your guests. There is no marketing, no follow-up, no list. On funeral services the "powered by Dictu" mark is off by default — the day belongs to the family, and nothing of ours appears unless you ask for it.

Our story

We had been there ourselves —
with no tool and no time to prepare.

When one of our parents died, family travelled from across Europe to be there. People who had never been in the same room before, speaking different languages, all trying to grieve together. The tributes were heartfelt — but for half the room, they were just words they couldn't follow. There was nothing we could do about it. There was no time, no tool, and nothing that existed to help.

A few years later, planning our wedding in Amsterdam with Dutch, English, French, and Italian guests, we finally built what we had needed then. A simple way for every person in the room to follow along in their own language — in real time, no app, no fuss.

What struck us most wasn't just that everyone laughed and cried at the same moment. It was that family members who would normally never have spoken felt brave enough to take the stage — knowing everyone would understand them.

We thought about that funeral. We knew Dictu had to exist for those moments too.
